The York Branch of Cats Protection was established in January 1992. We are one of over 260 groups of volunteers in the rescuing, treating, neutering and re-homing unwanted or abandoned cats and kittens. We help hundreds of cats each year in the
Through our Adoption Centre and network of volunteers we provide temporary accommodation for needy cats until safe, loving, permanent homes can be found for them.
We are completely self-funding, how many cats we can help depends on how much money we can raise.
We rely on donations received from the public, sales in our charity shop, and the various fundraising activities we organise each year.

Anyone can become a member of York Branch of Cats Protection, regardless of where you live. A number of our members currently live outside the Branch area.
