How you can help

Welcome to the York Cats Protection Adoption Centre website.

You can check out our news items and features, details of upcoming events, success stories of our cats in their new homes, and most importantly, the cats we have available for re-homing.

The York Branch of Cats Protection was established in January 1992, and our Adoption Centre at 582 Huntington Road opened in April 2001.  We are one of a network of 29 Adoption Centres and over 260 volunteer-run branches, who work in the rescuing, treating, neutering and re-homing of unwanted or abandoned cats and kittens.  We help hundreds of cats each year in the York area.

Through our Adoption Centre and network of volunteers we provide food, shelter, veterinary treatment and plenty of fuss to needy cats until permanent, safe and loving homes can be found for them.

We receive no funding, and rely entirely on fundraising, sales in our charity shop and generous donations from the public to be able to continue our work. You can now make an online donation to York Cats Protection via PayPal. Any contribution made, however small, will be of genuine help to the cats in our care.
